IMPORTANT NEWS FOR STATE BORDER SHC MEMBERS (NSW & VIC)

**** 100KM DOMICILE RULE CHANGE ****

At the SHCA meeting on 10 June 2014, a review of the 100km border domicile rule was undertaken. Effective from 1 July 2014, a SHC member who resides within 100km of a State border can remain a member of their current SHCA Affiliated club, but new members are to join a club in the State in which they reside.

However, any SHC member who resides within 100km of a State border may decide which State SHC Horse of the Year they will compete at. If this applies to you, you must complete a Statutory Declaration to be submitted with your SHC membership renewal or application.

The Statutory Declaration must confirm that you reside within 100km of the border, and given your proximity to State borders, you must nominate which State SHC Horse of the Year you wish to compete at for the next three years.

If you move to an address outside the 100km zone during this three year period, your Statutory Declaration will become null and void and you must compete at the HOTY of the State aligned to your new address.

There is no alternative to the three year period.

EXAMPLE: If you reside in Kaniva (Vic) and you are a member of a SHC affiliate, at the time of your membership renewal you will complete a Statutory Declaration and nominate to compete at either the SHCV HOTY or the SHC SA HOTY for the following three years.

PLEASE NOTE: A SHC member and a SHCA registered horse can ONLY compete at ONE SHC State HOTY in a calendar year.
